![]() However, as a stand-alone song, it doesn't hold up too well. It's almost like their very own theme song. I'm just not a huge fan of these types of songs. It's more for comedic effect rather than to be taken seriously. It's an awesome arrangement, but again, it can be a little childish. It's basically a three-in-one, like three different flavors of ice cream all together. This song is very creative in its lyrics and tone. It kinda stands on its own, but it's just an awkward song to listen to when you're on-the-go or out in public. This whole song is very action-packed, but again, wouldn't really listen to it much outside of the opera line-up. I like Professor Elemental's appearance in this song, and his rap is pretty fun. Wink is a very fun and sympathizing character, but since his "arc" is not finished in this song like most SPG character-driven songs are, this ends up kinda low on the list. This song starts out pretty good, but then it gets pretty story-heavy after the first few seconds. Cool, but not to listen to by itself.Ĩ1-Wink the Satellite (The Vice Quadrant pt.1) A lot happens in these few minutes, including a space whale being punched. Rav and his crew all seem to have established personalities, and the people they come in contact with are interesting. It's very funny, but I wouldn't listen to it on its own, but I could see myself recommending it to someone who likes this sense of humor.Ĩ2-Rav to the Rescue (The Vice Quadrant pt.2)Īgain, this really can't stand alone, but I enjoy the characters in this "monologue". This basically falls into the same trap of the previous ones listed. I just would have to listen to both albums fully and in order to enjoy this one.Ĩ3-Super Space Blaster Centi-Asteroids Invaderpedes 2 (The Vice Quadrant pt.2) It's more to fit in with an opera rather than be it's own thing. It also has a lot of dialogue in it, which is not bad. I didn't really care for it, and it's not as catchy to me as the other songs. ![]() I am not trying to bash the Vice Quadrant albums, trust me! I just don't think this song can stand alone from the album. It's just not geared towards me.Ĩ4-The Space Giant (The Vice Quadrant pt.2) Not the best, but certainly not a terrible song. It's very comedic and funny, but as a regular song to listen to, it doesn't really hold up to me. ![]() I admire SPG for being both for children and adults to enjoy, but this song gears more towards younger audiences. I like what they tried to do with this, but it seems so out of place, even for the Vice Quadrant opera.Ĩ5-Gg The Giraffe (The Vice Quadrant pt.1) It doesn't really stand too well on its own either. I know she's supposed to be this little girl in a robotic giraffe body, but I just don't really care for this. I tend to find Gg a little annoying and somewhat bratty in this recording. This is more of a "monologue" from SPG's space opera, but I just don't care for it. Now with all that out of the way, let's begin:Ĩ6-Where is Everyone? (The Vice Quadrant pt.1) And if you like something that I dislike, well, more power to ya! And if it's the other way around, I will respect your opinion and I ask that you will respect mine. Please keep in mind that there are no bad SPG songs to me, it's just that I favor some more than others. I also try to separate the songs to see if they can stand alone and be it's own thing rather than attached to the album (like the Vice Quadrant opera). ![]() Since they didn't write the song themselves and only sang it, I feel that I should judge more the original artist on those songs. (depending on song, it may get critiqued for different things)Īlso, for the sake of time, I will not be ranking their covers. If I would recommend it to someone/ newcomer So here's what I'm looking for in an SPG song: They're just guidelines on how I "grade" each thing on this list. Now before I start this, I need to lay down some rules.
