Fable 4 teaser1/17/2024 Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was given a formal announcement as the newest project from Rocksteady at the DC FanDome event in 2020. Games, and those suspicions turned out to be right on the money, though with a property not many would have predicted. Most assumed it would be another DC property, since it is owned by Warner Bros. Fans were left waiting to hear what this studio would tackle next. It followed that success with two sequels, the even more beloved Batman: Arkham City and the divisive, though still fantastic Batman: Arkham Knight. Rocksteady made a name for itself as one of the first teams to make a universally acclaimed superhero game with Batman: Arkham Asylum. There is currently no way to pre-order Fable 4. There’s a fantastic shot of the iconic chicken-kick, so hopefully that will be included in the final release. Again, we don’t see how they will work or if the mini-game-style systems will come back. The trailer also implies plenty of social interactions, which has been a staple of the series since the beginning. In terms of enemies, we see a handful of human foes, a look at some kind of werewolf, and the giant narrating the entire trailer. We would expect more weapons, including ranged options like bows and other magic types, to return but have yet to actually see any so far. Sword-play will be a given, including some cinematic takedowns, plus magic like a fireball. While it didn’t appear to be gameplay, at least in the final form, the last trailer did show some elements that we can expect from Fable 4. This is also the first time we hear our protagonist speak, which could imply a more set character. The hero we see is a woman, which could be an option as it was in prior games, or perhaps this time we will be playing as a set character. We are introduced to a man named Dave, an apparent vegetable enthusiast, monologuing over the rest of the trailer with some dry humor. The entire thing was labeled in-game footage but doesn’t show much of what looks to be actual gameplay. The Xbox Games Showcase is set to premiere on June 11.It wasn’t until 2023 that we saw Fable 4 again, but this time we got a much better look at both the game and the tone. This is the latest mainline entry in the Fable series since 2010’s Fable 3. In the meantime, we’ve learned that the game is being developed using the Forza engine and that Horizon Forbidden West writer Andrew Walsh left Guerrilla Games to join Playground and work on it. The Fable reboot was first announced back in 2020 for Xbox Series X and PC. The game is being developed by Forza Horizon developer Playground Games. So this trail of glitter implies that the Fable reboot will appear at the Xbox Games Showcase. In the Fable games, a glitter trail guided players to their next destination on a mission.
